Overview
The car insurance provided by Hulk Cars is underwritten by AXA France ("AXA"). The protection plan covers financial liability for damages caused to the host's vehicle and related services (e.g., roadside assistance). The guest's liability for damages to the host's vehicle is not insurance but an agreement between the guest and Hulk Cars.
Important Terms
- Guest – Refers to the primary guest indicated in the reservation as well as any additional drivers verified by Hulk Cars.
- Property Damage – Any damage caused to the vehicle, including damages to the mechanics or interior equipment of the vehicle.
- Associated Fees – Includes estimation fees, storage fees, towing fees, repair or replacement fees.
- Vehicle – The vehicle reserved during the reservation period.
Liability Insurance
The protection plan includes coverage through a liability insurance policy underwritten by AXA France. The policy protects against any legal liability for damages caused to third-party property up to €100,000,000, including €2,000,000 for damages related to explosions or fires.
Financial Responsibility for Property Damage to the Vehicle
The protection plan offered by Hulk Cars covers the financial responsibility for damages caused to the vehicle during the reservation.
- Guest Responsibilities: The primary guest is responsible for returning the vehicle in the same condition as it was at pickup. Any property damage or theft of the vehicle incurs financial responsibility for the guest.
- Mechanical or Interior Damage: Financial responsibility for these damages is not included in the protection plan. The guest should take photos before and after the rental to protect against damage claims.
Guest Liability for Damage to the Vehicle
The protection plan includes a contractual limitation of the guest's financial liability in the event of property damage to the vehicle:
- Premier Protection: The primary guest is not required to pay for property damage caused to the vehicle during the reservation, in addition to associated fees. However, the primary guest is responsible for all applicable repair costs for damages caused to the vehicle's mechanics or interior. This protection costs 40% of the vehicle's daily price, with a minimum fee of €10 per day. The limitation of liability applies only if the guest complies with the terms of use.
Important Points
- Credit Card Coverage: Do not assume that your credit card provides the same coverage as when renting a vehicle from a traditional rental agency.
- Violation of Terms: Any violation of Hulk Cars' terms of use results in the cancellation of the contractual limitation of liability, requiring the guest to bear all repair costs.
