The insurance for each rented vehicle is managed directly by the vehicle owner (the host). Hulk Cars does not provide insurance but facilitates the rental process between guests and vehicle owners. The protection plan covers financial liability for damages caused to the host's vehicle and associated services (e.g., roadside assistance). The guest's liability for damages to the host's vehicle is not insurance but an agreement between the guest and Hulk Cars.
The liability insurance applicable to the rental is provided by the vehicle owner. This policy protects against any legal liability for damages caused to third-party property, subject to the conditions set by the host's insurance.
The financial responsibility for damages caused to the vehicle during the rental is determined by the agreement between the guest and the vehicle owner.
In case of theft of the vehicle during the rental period, the guest must immediately file a report with the authorities and inform both the host and Hulk Rent. The host must also file a report as the vehicle owner. This procedure is essential to validate the claim and proceed with the necessary steps with insurance.
For rentals made via our Hulk Connect box, photos of the vehicle can only be taken live during the pickup and return stages. This ensures that the guest cannot use old photos to hide any potential damage to the vehicle. These photos are essential to guarantee clear and current proof of the vehicle's condition before and after the rental.
Additionally, the vehicle can only be opened after the photo and document verification stage, such as ID card and driver’s license, via the Hulk Rent app. This process ensures that the guest is properly verified before being able to access the vehicle.
Each host has their own insurance policy. You can inquire about the conditions directly with the host and/or in the vehicle description. Insurance costs are generally included in the daily rental price. Additionally, hosts may require a security deposit for their vehicle, which typically covers the deductible costs of the vehicle.
If the condition of the vehicle upon return differs from its condition at the start of the rental, cleaning fees may be applied by the host. These fees range from €20 to €50 depending on the state of the vehicle.
The guest's driver’s license must be verified before and after each rental during the key handover. If the key handover is done remotely via our Hulk Connect box, the Hulk Rent app automatically handles the verification.
